The first thing I ever played would probably be Guitar Hero. And just from playing Guitar Hero, I got interested in playing an instrument. And as you can guess, I picked the cello.
I don't know why I picked the cello, but now that I've started lessons, it's started to get a lot funner. The most fun thing would probably be, there's three things that I like about it. Those three things are how you get to play with the bow since you learn how to play; number two is how pretty the instrument is; number three is how it sounds.
To take care of your cello, you set it on its ribs. The ribs are the parts on the side. When you take out the bow, you have to tighten it. And when you put it back in the case, you have to loosen it. This sticky stuff called rosin is what you have to put on the bow before you start playing. And when you're done playing the cello, you always have to wipe the cello off. Before you even start playing any notes on the cello, you have to take out this big metal stick that comes out of the bottom. To take it out, you have to loosen it, to put it back in, you have to loosen it. The big metal stick at the bottom is supposed to bring the cello up to the right height. At the bottom of the big metal stick, there's a point so when you set the cello down, the point hits the floor and it makes it be at the right height.
It's a lot of work, but I like it.
